Blackjack Cross Country Skiing
Wensley Creek Cross Country Ski Trails offer 9 kilometres of groomed classic track skiing for both beginner and intermediate skiers. The trail is usually ready for skiing by mid-late December, and the season extends through to late March, with variable conditions throughout the season and even along different sections of the trail. Bringing a variety of waxes is recommended. Horseback riding, hiking, and mountain biking are available in the off season.
Driving Directions:Head south from Nakusp on Highway 6 toward Nelson for about 4 kilometres, Turn left on Upper Brouse Road and follow it to the top through a series of turns until reaching the parking area for the trails.
Black Jack Ski Club is a nonprofit club of 600+ members located 3 km north of the alpine city of Rossland BC and across from Red Mountain Ski Resort. Our mission is to build a community of Nordic Skiers by providing and sustaining excellence in programs and services. Cross-Country Skiing Blackhawk Ski Club is home to over 2 kilometers of dedicated nordic ski trail (skate and classic) made with artificial snow base. Portions of the trail are adjacent to alpine slopes which makes for fantastic training ground.

- Cross-country skiing is a form of skiing where skiers rely on their own locomotion to move across snow-covered terrain, rather than using ski lifts or other forms of assistance. Cross-country skiing is widely practiced as a sport and recreational activity; however, some still use it as a means of transportation.
- Note that we only have Solomon bindings if you are bringing your own boots. Black Jack offers full rentals at the trailhead kiosk, including skis, boots, and poles for both skate skiing and classic skiing. The kiosk is usually staffed everyday from about 9am to 2pm weekdays and 8:00am to 3:00pm weekends.
- Site Description: Black Jack is considered one of the premier cross-country ski facilities in western Canada due to the excellent grooming, variety of trails, abundant reliable snowfall, and convenience of our proximity to Rossland. Blackjack offers Approx 40km of expertly groomed trails for both classic skiing and skate skiing, 2.5km lit night.
We offer approximately 45 km of expertly groomed trails for both classic skiing and skate skiing.
The ski season usually starts in late November.

Rentals available during Kiosk hours - *If renting equipment, please show up 1/2 hour before closing.
Trail fees always apply. Outside of kiosk hours please use the self-pay envelopes in the big red mailbox by the kiosk or the dropbox at the Biathlon trailhead.

Please note: - snowshoes are not allowed on any trails.
Dogs are only allowed on Richie's Loop, but their minders need to be on skis.
Getting Here
Driving Directions From Rossland BC:
From intersection of Hwy 22 and 3B head north for 4.5km.
Turn Right onto Mann Road.
Drive for 900m, turn left on Campbell Road
Parking lot and Clubhouse are on right.

The rental is for a 24-hour period so you can get a couple good skis in! To make sure our staff is around to help call ahead at 250-362-7164.

We welcome members of all ages and abilities. As a Black Jack Ski Club member you belong to a ski community. You can enjoy the trails with friends, new and old all winter long .
The 2020/21 Membership opens on Sptember 15, 2020 for registration with Zone 4 ( online registration) and the early bird pricing ends October 31. The kiosk, once it opens, will be available to pay by cash or cheque.
The total fees are based on the Black Jack Ski Club membership, GST, Zone 4 and CCBC $19.00/ per person fees.

The family rate applies to two adults and their dependent children under the age of 19 years. The family CCBC fee is based on a family of 4. Each additional family member is subject to an additional $19.00 fee.
